Welcome to the Nakama Do Shukokai Karate website, I hope your tour is informative and, if you like the way we do things, why not drop me a line through the link on the left.

This site is designed for the use of the students and parents of Nakama Do Shukokai Karate Club. I will endeavour to provide as much information as I can about the club, about forthcoming events that will interest the club and it's students, and anything else that will add to the knowledge of every like minded person who happens to venture through our site.

To the students of Nakama Do, if there is anything you would like to see on this site, or any ideas you have and would like to add them to the site, please send me an email, or speak to me in class and I will see what I can do.

The club was started in October 2001, simply with the aim to teach children a recognised Martial Arts form and instil in them, not just the skills and practical experience of an effective form of self-defence, but to adopt a positive attitude, develop their character through hard work and perseverance and, just as importantly, teach them discipline and respect.

I believe, by bringing your children along to the Club, you have exactly the same aspirations.

The Club and our Association strongly promote the Child Protection Policy and all Instructors are MASTARR trained and undergo Police checks.

The Club has £5 Million Liability and Indemnity Insurance and all students are insured for injuries through their Licence Insurance

What We Aim To Do For Your Children

bullet

Teach them to be Physically and Mentally ready against a would-be assailant.

bullet

Teach them to be Confident and have an attitude of Yes I Can.

bullet

Teach them to be Disciplined, not only because they need to be disciplined to be better in life, but to also be Disciplined to say NO to bad things, like drugs, if ever they are offered.

bullet

Help to strengthen their minds to do better in school and with their future career.

bullet

Teach them how positive life can be, if they learn to Think Positively.

bullet

Let them have Fun as they learn the Martial Arts, fun and discipline can be mixed.

bullet

Pinpoint specific Goals for them. Short Term Goals (Learning new techniques for that day or week), Intermediate Goals (Achieving their next belt level in a few months) and Long Term Goals (Becoming a Black Belt and a role model for lower grades).

bullet

The children who reach Black Belt level at our club are people with Integrity, Self-Discipline and Confidence. They have Leadership Qualities and Life Skills that will hopefully remain with them all their adult lives and be passed to their children.

There will also be many opportunities for your children to take part in competitions, coaching and first aid courses, and many other activities run by the Club and our Association, any news on these activities will be conveyed to you through our regular Newsletters, please take time to read these, they are important for keeping you up to date with what is going on in the Club.
